Response From
Global Affairs Canada
Thank you for contacting the Emergency Watch and Response Centre of Global Affairs Canada.
We are deeply sorry for the difficulties you are facing in China. We are aware of your situation, including the circumstances of your mother and your sister.
Please note that we have created a consular case file for you (2025-GANZU-6225215). A consular officer at the Consulate General of Canada in Guangzhou will be your primary point of contact.
You may find their contact information under “Consulate General of Canada in Guangzhou.”
Global Affairs Canada does not provide advice regarding the customs and immigration policies of foreign countries. For general information on entry/exit requirements for various countries, please refer to our published “Travel Advice and Advisories — China.”
Regarding “exit bans”:
“Chinese authorities may impose exit bans on certain individuals. If you, your family members, your employer, or your business partners are involved in any unresolved civil or criminal investigation (including commercial disputes), an exit ban may prevent you from leaving China.
You may only discover that you are subject to an exit ban when attempting to depart China, during customs and immigration inspections. Obtaining information from Chinese authorities about exit bans is often extremely difficult.”
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Canadian office in Guangzhou at any time.
Sincerely,
